I had planned to purchase Sibelius or Finale notation software down the line when I got some money again. STAGE 2 Getting the keyboard to directly create midi files and music scores on my pc. I can go on the web, download any midi, run it thru the Casio SMF software (converts midi to casio cp2 format) and play the music thru the 320 - very nice, works well. Connected the 320 to the PC, did the installation per Casio Manual, and in minutes (as opposed to hours with M Audio cabling), I have both way commumication between keyboad and pc. So, being a kiss (keep it simple stupid) kind of guy, I went off to Staples, bought a straightforward USB A-B cable. Despite a few hours of faffing around, I couldn't get it to work You plug the Midi connectors into the Midi ports on the 320 and the USB into your PC and hey presto, It doesn't/didn't work for me. He suggested I purchase an M AUDIO Midisport Uno (1 - in/ 1 - out MIDI/USB) cable.

(Against my better judgement for simplicity) I let the sales person sway me. I have no previous experience, but am fairly "techie"

Along with the DP I had to make a couple of other purchasing decisions - one of which was how to connect the 320 to my PC. As some of you know from my previous posts, I bought a Casio PX 320 cupla weeks ago.
